Friday night was the welcoming party meet-and-greet at the Ole Barn. The place was packed with riders and non-riders alike, but the highlight of the evening came when Vinnie & Cody walked in. Immediately, they were surrounded by fans, shaking hands, and taking photographs. The rest of the night Vinnie & Cody partied and mingled with groups of people. Saturday the weather didn’t cooperate. It was wet and cold but that didn’t stop a group of hard core riders from getting on their “bikes” and running the roads up though Eagle Bay, Blue Mountain Lake, then over to Long Lake, stopping at the Adirondack Hotel for something hot to drink. Then Jody McKay (organizer of the event) along with Cody, and Vinnie presented Deb a (survivor) with a $500.00 Assistance Gift Card. We want to thank them and all who made this event a success. ![]() ![]() People might recognize Vinny and Cody from the Discovery Channels, biker build series "Orange County Choppers". ![]() Vinny talking to Sue about the road ride that was coming up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One of the funniest moments was when Cody had to stand up in front of everyone and explain how he lost his helmet while riding! As the story goes… we were headed over to Long Lake. The group was cruising along and Cody yawned which caused his helmet to unsnap and blew off his head. I was several bikes back watching the helmet bounce down the road. I tried to avoid hitting it but no such luck. I had my girl Sue as a passenger and I couldn’t take any real evasive maneuvers. I felt like a “quarterback at a football game trying to avoid being tackled!!!” The only thing I could do yell to Sue: "HOLD ON!!!" Then lock my arms straight and grip the handle bars tight. The front tire of my motorcycle hit that helmet, “WACK”, which sent it a good 50 feet in the air and up into the woods. The combination weight of my motorcycle and the two of us on the bike kept me from dumping it. I pulled over to the side of the road with the rest of pack and laughed. We all waited as Cody came running up the side of the road to retrieve his helmut then we were on the road again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We stopped at the Adirondack Hotel to warm up, get something to drink. bikes, and back to the Ole Barn for some good food, good music, and just plain good times.
